(the Netherlands, Holland and Germany) during the
Renaissance, from 1300-1600. The course will evaluate
the influence of political and religious institutions, such
as the papacy and the Catholic church, international trade
with Italy and Spain, the rise of Humanism and how they
shaped the development of one of the most fascinating
periods of western art history.
