THE PHOTOGRAPHY

OF

CAROLYN

THOMBS

Photography is a new passion of mine. I only just discovered it’s amazing

qualities the senior year of  high school. It has helped me to express myself

in a new way I never thought I had the power to do.

Some may think that

photography

is not an art,

but oh, they are wrong.

Captivity

If you have the skill and the eye to capture moments in time that force the viewer to be shipped off into another world, that is the epitome of what art truly is.

Imprinted in History

Playing in the Sand

Art is a wonderful remedy for

a lonely empty life and a

way to allow many people

without that amazing talent,

to catch even a glimpse of

what it is like to be in your

world of imagination and

creation.

Photography is all about getting the right shot or being in the right place at the right time in order

to capture the wonderful moment of that cute little girl playing

in the sand or that exact

moment when a dancer portrays

the passionate aura of

Flamenco.

Flight of the Flamenco

It also opened me up to wanting to explore other media such as drawing,

painting and watercolor. Though my favorite medium is still photography.

I do especially hope that you enjoy my array of images that I have chosen for this show.

All these images have their obvious meaning in them, but if the viewer looks closely and uses their imagination they may create meaning that is hidden to others.

Then it will become a photograph that has a special meaning to them as well and

they can feel as closely to these images as I do.
